Evolving from a local unit into a multi-site pediatric surgical powerhouse.
The Department of Pediatric Surgery has followed a trajectory of continuous development since its inception, consistently expanding capacity to safeguard the region’s youngest lives.
Our journey began with the founding ward at Jamshoro. This initial unit featured a 14-bed general ward, two weekly Outpatient Department (OPD) sessions, and dedicated operation theatre lists.
Strategic expansion led to the inauguration of the Hyderabad city ward. This modern ward added a 14-bed general recovery room and a highly specialized 8-bed Pediatric Surgical Intensive Care Unit (PSICU).
Across nearly three decades of development, the department has maintained a proud record of saving lives, upgrading infrastructure, and expanding its academic residency training programs.
